These are three essential steps for keeping your jewelry in tip top shape.
As a new body of work hits the shop, I thought it would be good to put together three tips on how to care and maintain your pieces. Care for your pieces is easy, but essential and this post will give you quick tips on how to properly handle each piece from Casa Catalina Jewelry.
Your jewelry should be the last thing you put on. If you wear hairspray, foundation setting mist, perfume or any lotion, apply those first and then put on your jewelry. This is to avoid any residue buildup on your jewelry. I actually cleaned up a pair of earrings that had a thick layer of hairspray on them and it took quite a while to clean.
The best way to keep your sterling silver polished is by wearing it. The rubbing against your hair, clothing and anything else will keep your jewelry from getting dark. This will not prevent it from scratching but the silver will stay looking shiny for a little longer.
Keep your jewelry, especially the oil paintings, away from sunlight when you're not wearing them. This is to protect the resin and pigments in oil paints from yellowing over time. The dark satin pouch that is included with your purchase is ideal for storing.
This will be a short post, but do you have any questions? I can create another post around preservation, care and maintenance to address any further questions.
