My Love is Sacred Earrings

I had this design sitting in my notebook for a few months. I wasn't sure if I wanted to create a piece that could be interpreted in so many different ways. It carries such powerful imagery that it could hold a deeply personal meaning for each wearer.

But that's the whole point of art. To lean into what feels uncomfortable, to explore the emotions stirred by certain imagery, to heal, to reclaim, and to create something beautiful from those experiences.

What I really wanted to explore with this design was the sacred and powerful nature of love. I reflected on many facets of love, from heartbreak and passion to rage and equal partnership, and felt that all of these experiences could be expressed through a single design.

I thought about the countless stories that surround love. There are stories of unbalanced relationships that leave someone guarded. There are stories of people who would drop everything to help a loved one through a difficult moment. There is a protectiveness that surrounds sacred love. There is also a fierce anger that can arise when that kind of love is threatened or taken away.

The title serves as a reminder that your love, and what it means in your life right now, is precious. It is something worth honoring, protecting, and drawing strength from.
