This is becoming an annual tradition. Instead of setting goals, I find that a shift in perspective always helps, especially at the start of a new year that began with a supermoon. What are words that I can come back to and live by as a creative? These words are not only meant to be grounding, but to also inspire future intentions with creations.
Here is the Creative Manifesto for 2026:
What am I letting in, and what am I letting go?
Internal change is radical, quiet, and deliberate. My creative freedom lies within that change. Reinvent, redesign, rebrand without apology and without diluting.
What if I viewed wealth differently? If knowledge, or skill, is wealth, how can I engage with that type of abundance?
For every piece created, a seed is sown. Plant seeds at the end of every project to show the universe gratitude. Always be grateful for the ideas. Speak intentions and manifestations into the seeds for myself, for family, for friends, for children, for elders, for ancestors, for the world.
Turn my studio into a sacred altar for creativity. Make the space less about productivity and efficiency, and more about play, discovery, magic, and rituals.
Study the seasons to understand my natural creative rhythms. How am I imitating nature? Notice the patterns. What is the opposite of a capitalist creative existence?
Read. Journal. Meditate. Run. Garden. Rest. Grieve. Create.
What would you add to this list?
Thanks so much for reading.
Take care for now,
Caitlin
