Inspired by my friend Sophie Kissin's emails, I wanted to start my own 'What I'm Loving Lately / Current Obsessions' but in blog format. This is a series where I share with you my inspirations du jour.
Street Style
I'm having a moment with exploring a new personal style. This is also affecting my jewelry designs as of late. I want something that feels really fresh, urban, with hints of retro. I've started with some classic adidas shoes, and now I feel like I have all of these ideas to create a new look. The jewelry? We're talking big hoops and chain necklaces.

Pompeii: The New Dig
It's been a while since I've found a good documentary, but this one put out by PBS is fantastic. On the PBS app or website, it's free to watch. So inspiring, so interesting, so much history. If you're looking for a series that will take you to another world, this is it.

Hoops and Chains
Ok, but back to the hoops and chains. Everyday statement jewelry is my jam. I am constantly on a search to create pieces that make the wearer feel empowered everyday, as opposed to designing pieces for ocassions only. From this idea, I was brought back to the classics: hoops and chains. In the process, I discovered a new way to 'finish' my work. No polishing, just leaving the silver in its naturally bright state. The final product makes the jewelry look like polished steel and I love it.

Thanks for reading, stayed tuned for more updates with this series.
Take care,
Caitlin
