THE ARCHIVES

This page is designed to showcase the progression through a selection of jewelry works since 2016.

Citrine Geode Bead Embroidery
When I first started jewelry, I worked primarily with beads and gemstones. I was constantly searching for ways to challenge myself with beading and starting to bead weave around unusual shapes and stones like this citrine geode.

Bead Weaving
There are ways of manipulating traditional bead weaving techniques to fit an idea. In this case, I wanted to use a variety of bead shapes and forms to see if it could become something wearable and cohesive.

King Darius Necklace
After reading The Histories by the Ancient Greek, Herodotus, I created a collection centered around the Persian Empire. I used techniques like chasing and repoussé to create the face and selected gemstones to reflect the colors of the region.

Persepolis Necklace
At the Ancient Persian palace of Persepolis, stand these columns capped with the double bull capitals. I recreated these in sterling silver by hammering the metal from the reverse. The necklace design was inspired by something from Van Cleef & Arpels.

Amphora Necklace
The Amphora pendant started as a class assignment and grew into a staple for my former business, Aguja y Clavo Jewelry. It was a feat in jewelry construction, and the amphora itself opened so that the wearer could leave messages in the container.

Persian Garden Necklace
This necklace was one of the first projects when I combined metal with beadwork. I was inspired by the floral patterns found in Persian rugs to create an interpretation of a Persian garden.
