This necklace is unapologetically dramatic, yet deeply rooted in symbolism. The quatrefoil chain link was designed to hold multiple meanings. I have always loved working with numbers and symbols, and the number four carries powerful intention. Four for the four directions, a life’s compass, a cosmic compass. Four for the four-leaf clover and the promise of good luck. The form most closely resembles the barbed quatrefoil, a motif believed to symbolize a rose with thorns, beauty held with protection.

The bottom pendant is an interpretation of the double palmera, or palmette, motif and was envisioned as a flower in bloom. I had been holding onto a beautiful freshwater pearl for years, from before I stopped using animal products in my jewelry. I imagined this dark flower opening at midnight, with a single pearly dew drop as a quiet reminder that beauty often lives in the most fleeting, simple moments.

Hand-crafted in recycled sterling silver, the Eleanora Lariat Necklace features a freshwater pearl suspended on a darkly patinated silver pendant. Its fluid drop design allows the necklace to fall in a Y-shape across the body. With each wear, it becomes a quiet statement of passage, elegance and place.
